Week one in the NFL, take it easy. 19 weeks left

Week one in the NFL can cause problems to many handicappers. The main problem is being to excited. Handicapper will sometimes see things that do not exist. The favorites will look so great that the average player will not be able to see the forest through the trees.

Rule one. Preseason does not count. It does not matter if a team went 4-0 or 0-4. What I really like to see in week one are teams that look like they are up and coming. I like to see teams that have the same coaching staff and same offensive coaches. I like to see teams that did well on offense or defense, to have added a piece or two. If a team that all of the sudden picked up a bunch of new players, early in the season it will take time to work well together.

Teams that lost a center during the preseason are an early play against, no matter how many other stars that the team might have. All you have to do is look back at the U.S.C game on Saturday. There were no less then 5 plays that the center cost his offensive mates to fail. Take a look at the Super Bowl, when the Raiders got beat by Tampa Bay. Robinson lost his mind in the days leading up to the big game and was a no show. Result, Tampa won the game easily.

The center takes care of all line calls and controls the ball on every play. look for teams that have been making steady progress over the last two or three years. Look at teams that have solid offensive and defensive lines. Lines that have been together for a while. Maybe a team that has added an all league guard or tackle but the rest of the unit has been the same. Players that have been together from their rookie year and have been getting a little better each year are worth a long look.

Looking at historical situations that have produced long term profits are always good to look at. NFC East teams playing one another and one team is the underdog at home have always done very well. Monday night football home underdogs are a very profitable angle.

Above all be very patient when it comes to week one. Look at some solid angles and keep the number of plays to a minimum.

There are many weeks left and you will have 20 weeks of regular season and another 4 weeks of playoff football. You also have college football and Bowl games into the new year.

I started the season with a 4-0 mark with regular plays and 1-0 with a top play or double unit selection.

If anyone has any questions about my football service please give me an email. I hate to see people lose or get promised the world by well known services. bobscans@ymail.com

I will win you money and give you every single play I have. No special plays that you need to pay more money for or charge for the playoffs, Super Bowl or Bowl games.

I am a single handicapper. I do not have a stable of handicapper so I make sure that someone gives out the other side of my picks. A lot of the big outfits use this type of thing on a regular basis. It is wrong but people keep paying. I know before the season that I will have at most 2 losing weeks the entire year. I know I will hit close to 70% of my Bowl plays. I know I will hit 57 to 60 % of my one unit selections and 65 to 70% of my top selections. No one in the country will hit 90% like some of them advertise. Unless they give out maybe one selection a week.

Have a great day.
