The records are in and it is another winning season

This Bowl season has been an odd one for me. I have had 2 pushes that were pure winners and I have hit all my totals but one.

I have always been a side player, so with a record of 15-2 on totals this year in the NFL and college I must continue to look at totals going into next season. My record in the Bowl games is a very low percentage for me. I usually hit close to 70% overall with my Bowl plays but this year with so many favorites winning, I feel very lucky to be ahead of the game at all with this years Bowl plays.

The College season with an overall look of +11.70 units is acceptable. I have to admit I am used to picking up closer to 20 units then 10 for the College Football season. Winning is winning and any win overall will do.

With a total of 6 selections left for my Bowl season and 2 double unit plays I can still get to over a 15.00 unit season, which would taste nice after all the work I have put into this season. The harder I worked the more big kicks were missed this year. As I said a winning season will always be acceptable.

NFL 47.35 +8.50 units at 57% I am very happy with my single unit selections. The public has had a wonderful season with a number of the easy looking plays hitting every week.

NFL 10-8 +2.40 units The double play record has been most un pleasant. Games that I have counted on in the past just did not hit this year. Again a number of easy looking games, the public hit and I did not.

I know a number of big time bettors that would take 57% all day long and twice on Sunday. I like the look of the playoffs but they will be very tough. I have One very strong double play on Sunday and a couple of weaker plays on the rest of the slate.

I love to teach people how to win. It is one the best parts about being a handicapper. I will admit I have been talking to a young man in Chicago that is on the right road and in the long run this young man will be a long term winner.

Twice this year he went against me hard. In both instances he came out ahead of the game. I almost hated that he won and not because I was wrong but his logic was on the easy side. He said that in College Football that Houston would crush Penn State and I of course had the tough looking play. I took the better defense and the side that only alumni were on. I gave a number of reasons of why Penn State would cover the over inflated number and it did not happen. In the future this one easy looking bet could cost this young man a number of losses.

The second play was the New York Giants over the Dallas Cowboys. My friend again beat me at my own game and this could cost him a number of losses in the future. The NFC has a fact that underdogs do very well in East VS East. Against the number it is very close to 70% over the last 5 years or more. He said he liked the Giants because they were at home and had to win. it has been my observation that the Public loves these games and the Books make a killing. It did not happen this way. I had the Cowboys as my game of the year and they barley showed up.

I am very happy that my friend cashed a bet. I just do not want this to cost him in the future. Games like that where the public makes a killing, make games in the future that will win big for the Books look to easy.

Today I have 2 NCAA Bowl plays.

Kansas State +10 Look for a number of big plays from the well coached Kansas State team. They have a very nice rushing edge and a power rating edge. This line is out of whack. Kansas State is 7-1 as an underdog this year and are a plus 16 in turnovers. Ask Clemson how tough it is to cover as a favorite when you turn the ball over.

Kansas State Over 63.5 A 2 UNIT PLAY. As I said above, look for a number of big plays from both teams. Although I look for State to run the ball well, this does not mean time consuming drives. The coach of Arkansas is a bit of a punk and if he has the chance to rub it in he will. Both teams will average scoring drives of less then 3 minutes at a time and this does wonders for big time overs. The weakness of the Arkansas defense is against the run, giving up close to 5 yards a carry. The weakness of the State defense is the pass. They rank 104th verse the pass. So it is a classic strength on offense against the weakness on both defenses. The two teams are a combined 17-5 to the over this season. 77% to the over.

Oakland Raiders +3 The Kansas City Chiefs spoiled the Packers perfect season with a wonderful game plan to stop the Packers. The Chiefs also killed the Raiders in Oakland in the first meeting between these to biter rivals. I look for the Raiders to establish their run game early and then have a few big plays with play action as the game goes along. With Kansas City celebrating like they had won the Super Bowl last week....It is a huge letdown situation!!! Kansas City is now favored by 3 points and with the big win last week and the Raiders losing streak the public will be all over the Chiefs. A solid one unit play.

Miami Dolphins +10 This is another chance for a reversal of fortune game. The Patriots truly crushed the Dolphins in the first match up. The Dolphins have a very solid defense, that has gotten better as the season has gone along. The quarterback play has also been getting better as the season has moved along. The Patriots are running on all cylinders, but they do have some gaping holes in the defense. Although Denver ended up losing in a big way to the Patriots, Early on Denver ran for close to 200 yards in the first half alone. Denver fumbled 3 times in a row and the game was done. With the problems on defense the Patriots will have a tougher time with a well balanced offense by Miami. A nice one unit selection on the Miami Dolphins.

San Diego Chargers +3 December is here and the Chargers are once again looking to save their season by sweeping the December games. The Chargers have been winning rather easily the last few weeks. Once Rivers stopped throwing picks, his team started winning. The Lions won again last week by coming from behind. The Raiders weakness is their pass defense and that's all the Lions can do. Throw, throw, throw. The Lions gave up a ton of yards and before the last 2 drives in the Oakland game Stafford was getting a beating. It can be said that the Chargers right now are a better football team all around then the Raiders, this will prove to be the undoing of the Lions and their single minded offense. Balance wins late in the season and the Chargers have balance on both sides of the ball. A big 2 unit play on the San Diego Chargers.

San Francisco Forty Niners -1 This game has the look of Vegas begging everyone to play on San Francisco. This looks to be a tough spot for San Francisco. They beat Pittsburgh last week in a very physical game. A short week and Seattle is a very hot team right now. A funny thing has happened in Vegas. The public has jumped all over Seattle. I went from seeing a tough situation to looking at the how Seattle has been winning their games. Seattle has been rushing the football at a rapid rate. Lynch has had big games and with all that running even the Seattle quarterback is hitting just enough big plays to be a winner. San Francisco only gives up 70 yards a game and if they stuff the run interceptions will follow. This game is a reverser play.

Sunday was a bit of a Debbie Downer, but a nice rebound on Monday. Now the NFL stands at 43-32 regular plays.

I usually do not play the under in a game. It is just to tough to watch but that was the 2nd under that I have played all year and I am 2-0. The other was L.S.U at Alabama. That number was in the 40s and the books had to circle the game. Which meant limited amounts of wagers, and the books thought they had a bad number. They really did have a bad number and got cracked by a lot of bettors.

Florida International today at -4. I love those small schools. The only game I lost so far with the Bowls is Utah State. They looked the better team the whole game and just couldn't finish the job.

After a monster College Saturday, I look for a nice Sunday to finish it off. 12-2 yesterday in the NCAA. There are not mnay plays in the NFL today. One in the morning and 2 late in the day. The fun game of the day is Buffalo and the Jets. Is Buffalo that good are the Jets that bad?

NCAA Football coming and Baseball still counts and 6 pick 4s

It is no fun when the teams at the top keep winning everyday. Milwaukee never loses, Detroit is on fire and Arizona may never lose again.

The fun part is Cleveland has gone a nice streak. Although to late for the Indians, only because Detroit is playing so well. It really does not matter what the Brewers are doing because ST Louis with all of their talent has fallen on their face. San Francisco has won 2 in a row although it is like watching paint dry or pulling teeth to score the 2 runs that they need to win a game.

The Giants one goal is to stay 3 or less games back in order to make their series against Arizona have meaning. Of course the Jim Thome story is very nice even hitting a homerun in his first game back with Cleveland. It will be a perfect time for him to retire and enjoy his exit.

Pittsburgh will have a run in them next year as I have been saying their youth will mature and that young talented pitching staff will not have the 2 weeks from hell they got to experience this year.

In the NFL, I will say it loud and proud. Watch out for the Detroit Lions! They have a superstar on defense{I always start with defense first} And have a couple of superstars on offense. The one thing that is still building is an outstanding running back, that will come with great line play.

Look out in College football for Boise State. Look for U.S.C and Arizona State to NOT live up to the media.

A little Horse racing and A lot of baseball

I have a full card of baseball today, with all plays being against the grain. Should be fun, I also have a Pick 4 at Delaware Park and a nice 12-1 Morning Line longshot at Delaware Park.

Seattle +110 Fister has strong overall numbers, you cannot just look at his overall record. The Mariners have had a very good season. Livan Hernandez has about the same numbers as Fister but as the season rolls along Livan is getting up there in age and does not have the staying power he once had.

Pittsburgh +105 These two teams are playing about the same record wise but the Pirates are trending slightly better then Baltimore over the last 20 games or so. Guthrie has a decent E.R.A but is snake bitten record wise. McDonald on the other hand, not a good E.R.A but a 5-4 winning record shows he has had a little better luck. The records are the same the pitchers are close and the Pirates are at home. They should be -120 so plus money looks good.

Oakland +130 The Mets are playing well and Gee is 7-0!!! So why Oakland? they have won their last 5 games and the team is playing well under Bob Melvin, so riding the small wave to a +130 or more by game time.

Arizona +110 This is a little bit of an odd line with Kansas City at -120 which makes not a lot of sense here. Arizona has a better record overall and both teams near 500 away and home. While the pitchers are the same guy. The offense has a slight lean to Arizona so +110 is the way to go.

Detroit -120 This line is right on the number but I will take the better overall team here. But for last night where the Dodger pitcher was great throwing a 2 hitter with 11 ks. That is the only way that the Dodgers can win right now as their offense is, well offensive.

San Diego +180 This is a nice little angle play here with the Red Sox being tired from running the basses all night, scoring 13 runs with a 10 run 7th. Before that inning it looked good for the Padres. Not to be they got their head handed to them.

New York Yankees +125 If I played them at -105 with the feeling that the game was doggie style, +125 looks really good. For whatever reason Cincinnati is having an awful time with inter league play, only winning 1 game so far. This may cost the Reds the playoffs, Dusty Baker never did like inter league play.
