Tiger goes further down the list and the Pirates have gone back to the bottom

Tiger after 36 holes is in 36th place out of 50 players. If there was a cut line Tiger would be resting his knee some more. You almost feel bad for this used to be superhero. Almost, he fires a caddy that was with him in all of his glory. A guy who did open his mouth to much when Tiger was down but he was there for Tiger all along the way. Breaking cameras and shutting the media down when he had to for his guy.

Now another caddy, another prolonged swing change, and switching putters every other round. He is using the putter that has won 13 majors, this is a good thing. I heard him talking after his round today saying he is hitting his irons further then ever before. He was saying he just has to trust the distances. He is now hitting Phil type distances with his irons but Phil still has the better pitching and chipping game. Both guys are lacking with the flat stick.

Tigers scoring average since 2008 ranks 138 on tour. So media!!! Are any of you experts ready to admit Tiger is not the best player in the world any longer?

During the U.S Open, Azinger and Curtis Strange had the oddity of saying we all know who the best player in the world is. He is the guy{at that time 15th in the world rankings} sitting at number 15 in the world. I thought at the time, what are these guys talking about? Tiger is mentally not in the game and has an injury that could cost him his career. At least with the knee he has a built in excuse if his game never returns to form.

Tiger no longer is feared by the other players and that got Tiger half of his wins in the past. That and the fact that he made every single big putt in a 15 year span, that would not allow the other players even a thought of winning the tournament.

In baseball you have to feel for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Now losing 8 games in a row and going from first place to 8 games out in less then two weeks. The fans were filling the ball park, the players were ready to breakout, even management made some moves to get a couple veteran bats in the line up. Two weeks later the new bats are wondering what they are doing there and the fans were booing a double play ball. TWO WEEKS!!!

The Phillies are playing great baseball at the right time of year winning 8 games in a row and looking to really damage the San Francisco Giants opportunity to meet Philadelphia in the playoffs once again.

As the Giants sink, the Atlanta Braves are doing just enough to stay ahead in the Wild Card race. With Dan Uggla hitting in a career high 26 games in a row. The starters for the most part are doing their job and the offese has been opportunistic.

Milwaukee Brewers two weeks ago were in 2nd place and looking to be in a huge dog fight till the bitter end of the season. Winning 9 out of 10 games and extending to a 3 game lead over the Cardinals and a season ending{ for the Pirates} 8 game lead over the real Pittsburgh Pirates.

Ah, the American League Central. The division no one wants. The Tigers who are 8 games over .500 with a 4 game lead over the free falling Cleveland Indians. Then their in the White Sox who are 3-7 over the last 10 and are 6.5 games out of first and talking like the season is over. In this division it is not over for anyone. Finish at .500 and you have a 50-50 chance to waltz into the playoffs.

Another fun division is the American league West. The fun part of this division is the fact that the top 2 teams are playing very good baseball. Texas has a 1 game lead over the Angels. These two teams are playing solid baseball and when one team wins early in the day the other team finds a way to win later. Both teams have had big comeback wins and both teams have won the close games. Another division that will go down to the last day. Weaver for the Angels with his 1.88 ERA and 12 wins should be the CY Young award winner. I dont care how many wins Sabathia for the Yankees has by the end of the year. Sabathia's numbers are very average as compared to Weaver.

I am a life long San Francisco Giants fan but to me the manager of the year is the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mister Gibson has done a great job and making the playoffs or not, the job he has done is nothing short of spectacular.

Boston and New York. I was reading today how that rivalry is growing old and tired. That is really is not a rivalry. HUH, WHAT.... It is alive and well, I know when those teams play one another I make it a point to watch. I follow every team and watch many games but when those teams get together, they average fan will watch that game.

San Francisco and Philadelphia got into a very solid baseball fight yesterday. This one has been brewing for 2 years and with San Francisco beating the heavily favored Phillies in the playoffs last year, this will not die for a while. As long as both teams have the opportunity to meet in the playoffs and do not face one another that much during the season, every hit batter or stolen base with a 6 run lead will have an impact down the road.

It is a shame that the Dodgers have fallen so far and so fast on the field and off that the Giants have to go to the east coast for a true rivalry.
