Well I almost called the ball with a Tiger win. He just couldn't help himself on the final day. It was the only day where he started hitting the ball left off the tee. You knew he was in trouble on the very first swing of the day and even after going par-birdie-birdie, it was false. Tiger will win a major this year and will have at least 4 or 5 wins all year. Bold but true.
I never thought in this day and age that the Patriots would be completely looked over in any no less a Super Bowl. I was like everyone when at first glance that the Giants were the easy play in the Super Bowl.
I then did the stats on the game and will be making a strong play on the Patriots. They have the better defense overall and their offense has 4 weapons who can all catch the ball and will make the Giants playing Atlanta and the Forty Niners seem like playing a college team.
I watched the film on the Niner game and other then Vernon Davis Crabtree was a non player in the game against the Giants. It was welcome to physical playoff football young man. Every single play he was knocked off of his route by a physical cover man. I did not note 5 plays where he got off the ball and into his route. Makes it very tough on a quarterback to only have one viable option on every play.
Before the cries of the Giants crushed the Packers and made them look like little boys. It is true that the Giants dominated the Packers. The score was in no way indicative of how dominating the Giants were against the Packers. Once again a coach learned a lesson in the worst manner possible. The Packers with the bye week and resting their starters for the last 2 weeks of the season were well of of their game. The timing was off with Rodgers and his wide outs. A month off is to long to rest and play at the top of ones game.
The Packers also had one of the worst defenses in football giving up close to 500 yards a game. Jennings should not have been playing at all and for the first time all year the Packers had their offensive line beat up and if it was a regular season game three of those linemen would not have been playing. A perfect storm to lose.
The Giants have been one of the good stories this season. Fighting all the way and making it to the Super Bowl. They survived 3 possible interceptions with Niners running into one another rather then ending the Giants run. The Niners special teams had carried them for much of the year and 2 fluke fumbles gave the Giants 10 points in the second half. The Giants were dominated in the 2nd half and got 2 breaks that gave them 10 points.
The Patriots coach is a smart man and he will have broken down the film from the Niner game every possible way. He doesn't have the talent that the Niners have on their front line but he can run corner blitz's and will find a way to slow the Giants down. He doesn't have the talent to stop them but he will find a way to slow them down, thanks to the Niners and what they did in the 2nd half of their game.
I have been told that their is no revenge in the Super Bowl. The past doesn't matter. I say that is bullshit. The Patriots coach and Tom Brady were on the doorstep of being football gods in 2007. The undefeated season and everything that goes with it. The fact that this was taken away from the Patriots does play a piece in this game. Maybe a small part but this is a fact.
The Giants will not be able to shut down all 4 receivers for the Patriots. The Patriots have the middle covered with their tight end who will be playing. The underneath with Welker, and if that gets taken away look for Branch to get a cheap long touchdown or more. Alex Smith had his chances to hit a couple very deep passes, but missed. Tom Brady will not miss his chances.
When all the passing game gets going then the Patriots will get a few cheap 12 to 20 yard runs. The Giants on the other hand do have their weapons. With Nicks hurt, this will hurt Crews. I am not talking 7 stops in a row I am talking a couple stops and settling for a couple field goals instead of touchdowns.
The public and a few pro players are all over the Giants. The Giants and the under as a matter of fact. The books have had a tough year and with a great Super Bowl any and all losses will get wiped out. I have seen this story before. Public thinks it will be easy money and the books get the last and biggest laugh.
Think about it, you play the small favorite in the Super Bowl and it happens to be the New England Patriots 15-3 with a 10 game winning streak. You get to be with the books and have the number one seed against a 12-7 team who is a 4 seed.
The Patriots will score no less then 35 points. I really think the Patriots will score in the 40's but I will settle with 35. The Giants will score no less then 21 points and with a couple field goals the Giants end up with 27.
If you do a little math, even on the low end this game will sky over the total. As the public and some pro's look back at 2007. The under looks good to many people as well. What a perfect storm. The better team, the better seed, and we get to be on the bookmakers side. It doesn't get any better then this my friends.
Take The patriots and the Over. Be a winner along with Vegas.

A backwards week in the world of us. Fuck off Media!
This is a strange week in the works. One of the most important and well liked coaches in college sports gets fired for doing the right thing. While the man who saw the crime in progress keeps his job.
The media should be very proud of themselves, taking down a legend. A man who has done nothing but great things for Penn Sate and who has the most wins as a coach in college football history. A man who with his wife has done more for children in the State then anyone in the history of the State. A man who without coaching will be dead before the next calender year.
The Media took it on their moral high brow to bury a man for doing his job. Never mind the many, many, many men who became MEN while playing for this man. The high graduation rate and clean program. Fuck that! He heard a story and took it to his higher ups. As a state employee who got paid far less then any other coach who won 2 national championships.
Joe Paterno made 500,000 a year and was and still is loved by the kids that go to Penn state and who went to Penn state. The media has decided that he himself raped young boys even though he got rid of that cancer in 1998. Oh you must know this. The criminal was gone in 1998 and had nothing to do with the program in 2002. Somehow the media and I mean all of the media. The ones who cheat on their wives and drink all night and have the moral high brow of assholes who dine for free and dig to dig.
The truth has nothing to do with this story. If the truth had anything to do with this then Joe Paterno would be graded on doing everything he was legally, morally and ethically to do. There would be one person in the media who would stand up and be heard but that is not the case here. Someone to say, gee, Joe heard a story and did what you are taught to do since childhood and report the story to your boss or higher ups. Joe is 84 years old and since he was a small boy, he was told that if you hear of a crime then you tell your bosses that there might be a problem. If Joe had seen the crime he would have went to the police. Oh that is right Joe did not see the crime.
The man who saw the crime and did not go to the police still has his job. Joe was such a tool in all of this and protected his friend that he sat on the information and did not report his friend. Oh wait he did what he had to do. It did not matter who it was. That is right he also did all he could with the grand jury and spoke of what he was told. The media would have you believe that there was silence and he protected a friend. HE DID NOT!!!
The media, the same media that said Vick was an animal and should and would never play football again. That media who compliments Vick know because he can run, throw and lead grown men on the football field. The media who can ruin a 84 year old man who did lead men and who did make sure that every player who crossed his path for 61 years was a far better person for having Joe Pa enter their lives. Fuck all of that. Joe did what anyone would do and report the story to the people in power, and the people who were going to make sure that the criminal was taken care of.
Of course that is, since we are all innocent till proven guilty. Since charges were never brought after an investigation in 1998 why would Joe think any different when he heard nothing of it this time?
Media! You should all be ashamed. Everyone of you who jump on your moral bus. I have children as a matter of fact I have a 21 year old boy and girl. Both would have been around the same age as when this took place. I would never put the blame on the coach. I feel sick when thinking of this. I have read the transcripts and they are very bad. At no point would I blame the Coach, who did not see the act. I would not blame the man who saw the act. I would blame the man who did the act. Gee novel idea.
So easy to go after the 84 year old man who is the lightening rod. So easy to cast blame without knowing exactly what the coach did. I would have stood behind the man who made men better and made sure that my child would graduate school while playing sports. I would have stood behind a coach and his wife who donated their time, money and knowledge to special needs children and countless other child charities.
This really sounds like a man with no ethics or morals. Look at the entire man and his story, rather then what you the media thinks is what you would have done or not done in any situation. PATHETIC.
The other odd thing this week, while a great man gets torn down another man who proved to be a pig is leading a golf tournament across the world. The media loves Tiger and kills Joe Pa. Good job you pricks.
Back to normal we did have a very nice winning selection on the Oakland Raiders tonight. We took the 8 and won the game outright. I must have no morals for betting on sports. Or do have no morals because I charge for my work? I would hate to see how I would be judged by the media.
I am a good father, husband{which at one point I was not} and a really good handicapper. Sports and horses. I am sure because I do this for a living that I would not be judged well by today's media. I would not be what the media would think was a dead beat or scumbag because I do things in another way. It would not matter that it is legal or that I work a good 50 to 60 hours a week doing what I do.
Have a great day.

Huge game #5 in the National League tonight
This is a fantastic angle game in the National League tonight. The series is tied a 2-2 and Milwaukee played a very solid baseball game yesterday. Not only did they win the game but had a number of well hit balls that did not contribute to any offense.
The Brewers played great defense and after falling behind played very loose the rest of the way. When the Brewers are having fun they really do play their bast baseball. They got contributions all up and down the line up, not just from their stars. In order to win any series at this time of year, you must have the not so known get some big hits.
Yesterday although I had the over, it was great to see the aging Wolf pitch a great ball game. He only game up 2 runs over 7 innings which was the first time he had gone past the 5th inning in 13 starts.
A big part of the win was not only Wolf but the fact that the Brewers did not act like loud mouth punks. They just played happy go lucky baseball and worried about themselves and not their mouths.
Today you have a rematch from game one where Greinke got hit around a bit but got the win. Garcia was not as fortunate, taking the loss for his less then top effort.
This happens to be a rematch angle which is one of the strongest angles in baseball. This is where the same two pitchers that got the win or loss face off in their very next start.
This is also helped by the fact that Milwaukee was the only team to make the playoffs with a sub .500 record on the road during the regular season. this is also true so far in the playoffs. As great as Greinke is at home, he is opposite on the road. This is an odd thing since at home it is a hitters park all the way. Garcia on the other hand has been wonderful at home which does make sense. In St Louis, it is more of a pitchers park.
I have to admit I would usually only be looking to play the Cardinals in this one but Garcia has thrown more overall innings then he has ever thrown at any level. I see runs being scored early and often with the Cardinals bullpen holding it down late.
During the regular season, I would pass the total or play the under. Tonight however it looks to be a higher scoring affair.

Hawaii -4 this line is at 5 right now but I will buy to 4. Hawaii should destroy the secondary of San Jose state. The weather is supposed to be decent in San Jose tonight and I can see Hawaii throwing for at least 400 yards. Hawaii also has a slight rushing edge. The reason this makes a difference, is that Hawaii does not run the football often. With that double advantage, running and passing look for a blowout in Northern California.
NHL 0-0 The start of a new season.
San Jose -130 The Sharks are loaded again this year and somehow have gotten better then the team that has made it one step away from the Stanley Cup the last 2 years. The Sharks fans are some the biggest idiots on the hockey planet. That is tough to do with many east coast zanies out there in hockey land.
A quick note here. Look for Lane Kiffen to take a big hit with the crap he pulled with his one year at Tennessee. This guy is a great football coach but he is dirty. He left the Vols holding the bag with his one season of cheating. The NCAA is not done with Lane yet.
I had a friend ask me if Tiger woods would ever win again. The easy answer is of course. the real answer is, until he goes back to Butch probably not. To many swing changes in a relative short amount of time and to many personnel changes that he needs to mentally get rid of. The 2nd thing may take a lifetime to overcome but the going out and just playing golf might be a long way off.

Tiger Tiger Tiger, OK no Tiger, haha
The Milwaukee Brewers are playing great baseball and are taking their division as nothing is being handed to them. St Louis is really trying to hand the division to the Brewers though by going into Pittsburgh an dumping the first 2 games. It really makes no sense as Pittsburgh had lost a number of games in a row. Maybe the stress is gone from the young team and they are back to just playing baseball as they had done all year but for a 15 game stretch.
Another day and more San Francisco Giants are injured. Beltran, Romo, Keppinger, Sheirholtz and maybe Sanchez. It is amazing the Giants are only 3.5 games back in the division with the most DL moves ever by one team. I will say this, the Diamondbacks have won 7 in a row and showed the heart of a champion by scoring twice in the 9th yesterday off of Roy Halladay. As poorly as the Giants have played, Arizona is making it a mute point by winning everyday.
The Giants got zero respect as champions and the media is saying see last year was a fluke and the cream is really going to rise this year. Hopefully for baseballs sake the Giants can hang in there long enough to make the Arizona series at the end of the month worth a look.
You really have to give the Texas Rangers a ton of credit by going to the home of Angels and taking the first 2 games in dominating fashion. They are leaving no doubt who the best team is in the West.
The Tigers do not seem to have the finishing touch in the Central and Cleveland wants it so bad they fight every night. The team that seems to want the Central the most is the scalding hot White Sox. I say I am sorry to the White Sox. I said about 10 days ago that it seemed like they had given up. Their manager and G.M knew what they were doing and have a great chance to win this division.
My friend was giving a hard time the other day because I had mentioned Tiger Woods 3 days in a row last week, so here I go again. The media is hoping or was hoping that Tiger would play this week so he could sneak into the Fed Ex playoffs. How absurd leave it alone he will be outside the top 60 in the world soon enough, let the guy figure it out. If I hear one more time that this guy is still right now one of the top 10 US players in the world, I will throw a remote thru a television. He is not top 30 in the US.

Who says there is no JUSTICE
As Adam Scott surged into a tie for the lead, Tiger sinks back to Florida and the round is not even over. Stevie Williams has just got to be loving the demise of his former boss as he takes his player to great heights.
Pittsburgh will have their last stand this weekend. Even with a sweep it may be to much to overcome. It would be nice for the Pirates to put up a last fight for this season, nothing but a sweep will do.
The Giants need to at least take 2 out of 3 from the Marlins. Next are the Astros and nothing but a sweep will feel good to the stalling Giants.

Tiger takes a bite out of, er nothing
Nice 77 today Tiger. Why is the media still afraid of this guy? Another sponsor jumped ship and rumor has it that Nike cut his deal by over half. Tiger is probably a solid 50th in the world and sinking. I keep bringing him up because I am tired of hearing the media say how great he is now. He is less then average.
Steve Stricker is a guy who is well above average. Steve shot a wonderful 63 in the opening round of the PGA, just missing a putt for a history low 62 on the last hole he played. Stricker usually starts off a little slow in majors, this may be his week to be there all the way to the end. Rory probably broke his wrist on the 3rd hole. He still shot a very solid 70 with that hand coming off the club on almost every swing for 15 holes. With only one arm a 70 is a great score. Hopefully he will not have to with drawl from the event. Once again at a major you have a number of 40 somethings at the top of the leader board, which again shows that majors require patience and experience.

Baseball is freaking awesome and Tiger is normal
Dan Uggla kept hit hitting streak going with a 1-6 yesterday and to have long streaks you have to have those bad days that keep things going. Uggla now has a 30 game hitting streak and just another fun thing going on this baseball season.
14 games ago the National League Central was wide open. That is until the Milwaukee Brewers went on a 12-2 winning streak and the Pirates, Reds and St Louis went into the tank. Ok ST Louis is only 4 gaames out while Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are thinking about next year.
The San Francisco Giants still have a half game lead in the National League West, but seem to have found their sea legs. This division is going to go down to the wire as the Diamondbacks proved that having the big bats is a very nice thing to have. Arizona fell behind 1-7 early in their game against Houston and those big bats came alive for a 11-9 comeback win. The last 18 home runs that the San Francisco Giants have hit, have all been solo shots. One more and they will be tied for the longest such streak in baseball history. I believe it was the 1914 Philadelphia Phillies. Right now they are tied with the 2005 Boston Red Sox for 2nd on the historical list.
Speaking of Boston. The Red Sox after having the Yankees take over first place 4 days ago, decided that just was not going to work. Boston has won 4 in a row and what will keep the Yankees from winning a playoff series, their starting pitching has reared up and New York has lost their last 3 games.
Detroit still has a 3 game lead over the Indians and a 4 game lead over the all of the sudden hot Chicago White Sox. The Indians got a much needed 14 inning win against the Detroit Tigers late last night, which can really keep the Indians in contention. If Jimenez can rise and beat the Tigers today, things can get really interesting. I have a lot of respect for this Indians team, who could have fallen off the face of the earth like the Pirates have after the Jerry Meals Bullshit. The Indians have not burned it up but have done whatever they could have to hang in there. The White Sox have won 5 in a row and despite themselves, have come to life at the right time. The White Sox are only 5 games out and anything can happen.
Texas Rangers have done whatever it takes to stay in first place despite their closers poor performance this year. The Rangers are holding on to a 1.5 game lead and do have the better ball club overall. The Angels will have their top starter miss a very important start because his ego got the best of him and team didn't come first. Weaver will miss his start against the Yankees and if his team loses that game, I guess being shown up after a home run it is more important to make sure you do not look weak. That is a bleeping joke. Grow up worry about your team and throw at the guy who showed you up another time, hell another year. I will give the Angels all the credit in the world as everyone gave the Rangers the division before the season started.
At 76-40 the Phillies are just the best team in baseball. Between the starting pitching and the starting line up. From 1 to 8 their hitting is great and they have speed where they need to have it and they are the best fielding team in all of baseball. Going to be very tough to beat.
The line on Tiger Woods is 10-1 and really it should be 70-1 or 100-1. Tiger Woods has no chance to win this event and it could be a really long time before mister Woods is even in the hunt to win again. Get off it media guys he is just another player. He is not even top 20 in the United States.

The sad case of mister Tiger Woods
Have to wonder on this fine Monday, after Tiger finished 36th at the WGC event. How the media is going to make excuses. Going into the tournament I was the only person willing to say he was going to fall flat on his face. The Golf Channel had Tiger finishing in the top 10. Colin Cowherd was again singing the praises of Tiger saying he wouldn't be surprised to see Tiger contend. Because it is Tiger.
Tiger is no longer Tiger. He will go down as one of the top 2 players of all time and arguably the best of all time. It has all passed him by at a young age and his lifestyle or the outing of how he lived his life may be to much to overcome.
I thought when the announcement of the firing of Stevie Williams, was going to be the retirement of Tiger. Alas like so many other money making athletes, sounds like his debt is going to make him keep playing. With the divorce costing him in upwards of 100 million and the loss of now 6 sponsors takes its toll on the wallet.
He will play every tournament that is still willing to pay him a fee to just show up. After all that has gone on he is wiling to show up down under in a few weeks to collect his 10 million dollar fee. Now he is like anyone else and has to collect all he can to pay for his lifestyle.
Then there is this.....Adam Scott won the event this week! His caddy Stevie Williams. Gotta love the irony of that.

Tiger goes further down the list and the Pirates have gone back to the bottom
Tiger after 36 holes is in 36th place out of 50 players. If there was a cut line Tiger would be resting his knee some more. You almost feel bad for this used to be superhero. Almost, he fires a caddy that was with him in all of his glory. A guy who did open his mouth to much when Tiger was down but he was there for Tiger all along the way. Breaking cameras and shutting the media down when he had to for his guy.
Now another caddy, another prolonged swing change, and switching putters every other round. He is using the putter that has won 13 majors, this is a good thing. I heard him talking after his round today saying he is hitting his irons further then ever before. He was saying he just has to trust the distances. He is now hitting Phil type distances with his irons but Phil still has the better pitching and chipping game. Both guys are lacking with the flat stick.
Tigers scoring average since 2008 ranks 138 on tour. So media!!! Are any of you experts ready to admit Tiger is not the best player in the world any longer?
During the U.S Open, Azinger and Curtis Strange had the oddity of saying we all know who the best player in the world is. He is the guy{at that time 15th in the world rankings} sitting at number 15 in the world. I thought at the time, what are these guys talking about? Tiger is mentally not in the game and has an injury that could cost him his career. At least with the knee he has a built in excuse if his game never returns to form.
Tiger no longer is feared by the other players and that got Tiger half of his wins in the past. That and the fact that he made every single big putt in a 15 year span, that would not allow the other players even a thought of winning the tournament.
In baseball you have to feel for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Now losing 8 games in a row and going from first place to 8 games out in less then two weeks. The fans were filling the ball park, the players were ready to breakout, even management made some moves to get a couple veteran bats in the line up. Two weeks later the new bats are wondering what they are doing there and the fans were booing a double play ball. TWO WEEKS!!!
The Phillies are playing great baseball at the right time of year winning 8 games in a row and looking to really damage the San Francisco Giants opportunity to meet Philadelphia in the playoffs once again.
As the Giants sink, the Atlanta Braves are doing just enough to stay ahead in the Wild Card race. With Dan Uggla hitting in a career high 26 games in a row. The starters for the most part are doing their job and the offese has been opportunistic.
Milwaukee Brewers two weeks ago were in 2nd place and looking to be in a huge dog fight till the bitter end of the season. Winning 9 out of 10 games and extending to a 3 game lead over the Cardinals and a season ending{ for the Pirates} 8 game lead over the real Pittsburgh Pirates.
Ah, the American League Central. The division no one wants. The Tigers who are 8 games over .500 with a 4 game lead over the free falling Cleveland Indians. Then their in the White Sox who are 3-7 over the last 10 and are 6.5 games out of first and talking like the season is over. In this division it is not over for anyone. Finish at .500 and you have a 50-50 chance to waltz into the playoffs.
Another fun division is the American league West. The fun part of this division is the fact that the top 2 teams are playing very good baseball. Texas has a 1 game lead over the Angels. These two teams are playing solid baseball and when one team wins early in the day the other team finds a way to win later. Both teams have had big comeback wins and both teams have won the close games. Another division that will go down to the last day. Weaver for the Angels with his 1.88 ERA and 12 wins should be the CY Young award winner. I dont care how many wins Sabathia for the Yankees has by the end of the year. Sabathia's numbers are very average as compared to Weaver.
I am a life long San Francisco Giants fan but to me the manager of the year is the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mister Gibson has done a great job and making the playoffs or not, the job he has done is nothing short of spectacular.
Boston and New York. I was reading today how that rivalry is growing old and tired. That is really is not a rivalry. HUH, WHAT.... It is alive and well, I know when those teams play one another I make it a point to watch. I follow every team and watch many games but when those teams get together, they average fan will watch that game.
San Francisco and Philadelphia got into a very solid baseball fight yesterday. This one has been brewing for 2 years and with San Francisco beating the heavily favored Phillies in the playoffs last year, this will not die for a while. As long as both teams have the opportunity to meet in the playoffs and do not face one another that much during the season, every hit batter or stolen base with a 6 run lead will have an impact down the road.
It is a shame that the Dodgers have fallen so far and so fast on the field and off that the Giants have to go to the east coast for a true rivalry.

AROD, is a ROD, when will he learn
From a gambling side of yesterday, OUCH that was tough. Still up a little bit on the year and no juice was lost. You really have to feel for the Pittsburgh Pirates, losing another tough game. Losing 0-1 is a real ball buster. The Detroit Tigers have owned the Texas Rangers in Detroit the last 2 years. You wouldn't think, hey great the rangers are in town let us get HOT. When you own a team you own a team. Detroit getting hot at the right time along with the Milwaukee Brewers. Both teams making a real run at taking their divisions.
In the East the Red Sox and the Yankees are gonna fight it out till the end. I would say the Yankees really need to win their division. With the Yankees starting rotation they will need all the home games they can get in the Playoffs. The Red Sox on the other hand have decent starting pitching and being on the road will not hurt their chances.
The National League East is looking to be a landslide by the Philadelphia Phillies. Getting really hot at the right time. With Lee going tonight against the Giants, the Phillies have a great chance to stay hot. The Giants are the backwards team. The tougher the opponent the greater the chance that the Giants will at least split the 4 game series.
Losing 2 out 3 against the Nationals, hurt the Braves a little bit. Putting the Giants and Arizona in the thick of the fight for the wild card.
The National and American league West has become two very good two team races. The Giants lead by one game because Vogelsong is now 8-1 after a Giants loss this year. The Rangers also hold a one game lead in their division with a great opportunity to tie for the lead yesterday. Of course the called dead Twins knocked the Angels off to keep them out of first.
Baseball is going to be great and meaningful all the way to the last days of the season. It would be great if those Central divisions would tighten back up and see some fun stuff down the stretch.
Arod back in the news again, for the wrong reasons...AGAIN. If he was involved with underground poker games where their was some violence involved and drugs, he should and will be suspended. They already gave him a pass about 6 years ago ans this is after the steroid issues. There will be no free passes. This story is very quiet right now but it will get very big in the next week or so. This is going to get nasty folks.
YAWN!!!! Tiger is playing in a P.G.A event this week and the media is giving him a win or a top 10 finish. This man has not made a birdie since April. Cmon media, Tiger is a middle of the road golfer with zero Bite left. Not right now anyways. Give the guy a chance to maybe play a round or two before crowning him the great one again.
