NCAA and NBA look to be a huge profitable day

Well it was nice to see V.C.U take care of business and not have to wait around for the call like Drexel will have to do this week. Drexel went 19-1 over their last 20 games and deserve to play in the tournament.

Detroit taking care of Valparaiso was a great move for them as well and if Valparaiso doesn't get the nod they can look at one of the bottom Big East teams that do not deserve to represent as the bullshit pick to dance.

For the most part things have gone as predicted, with a one or two seed winning their conference tournaments. This will allow for some of the teams that lost in their conference finals to get the well deserved invite. No real upsets of any kind this year.

I am a big believer in Stanford, California, Arizona, Washington getting the chance to play for it all this year but the PAC 12 will probably only get 2 teams in. The reason being is for some reason the selection guys will overload the tournament with Big East teams again. I even like Oregon and or Oregon State to get in but it will not happen.

I will say it again watch out for Belmont who lost by 3 to Duke and had a real chance to beat Duke but came up short. Belmont will probably get a 12 seed which they really deserve a 5 seed at worst.

NCAA Basketball 114-109

West Virginia +2
East Carolina +1
Houston +4
Tulane +7 A don't make sense play at it's highest level.
Stanford -9 The Cardinal must win at least 2 games to even get a look to the dance.
Colorado -13 My Best play of the day.

NBA 40-32

Utah -7
Lakers -7
Atlanta +12
Chicago -7
Portland +2
New York +7
New Orleans +5
Memphis +1

This is a day of many play's and the largest number of NBA plays by double of any day this year.

Have a great day.

NCAA Basketball is rising to the top

After a couple weeks off it is time to get back to handicapping. I have a few very nice plays tonight in College Basketball and the NBA keeps going very well. Pace of the game is huge this time of year. There is no more pure home court advantage, you will find home state advantage and that is simply not the same as home court.

Who are the sleepers this year? Butler will not make another run this year as they will not get an invite to the dance. UCONN is hanging by a thread and will need a couple wins in the Big East tournament to get their invite. This was the situation that they were in last year and they decided to not lose another game.

The so called mid major's will make an impression this year. A small example is the WCC. ST Mary's, Gonzaga and BYU will all make the dance. These three teams will have more wins then a major conference with 2 times the teams or 3 times the teams. I don't know why it works this way but it will happen.

One of the it teams is Tennessee which I think should not make the tournament over a team like V.C.U which has done more then enough to make another run. I have Drexel beating them today in their finals match up.

Reaching into the way back machine Valparaiso has a very solid team and if healthy a sweet 16 trip is not out of the question. The pac 12 will be overlooked but if Washington gets in, I look for a sweet 16 trip by them as well.

In the end look for the usual suspects such as Kentucky, North Carolina, Syracuse and Duke to make a huge run at the title. North Carolina will get my nod to win it all and their are questions weather or not they will get a number 1 seed.

One last team that could scare anyone and everyone is Belmont. They run and gun and will outscore anyone. That is my super sleeper.

NCAA 108-106

Drexel +2.5
North Texas -1.5
Ball State +4
ST Mary's +3
Loyola Maryland +3
South Dakota State -12

NBA 38-28

Golden State -1
Clippers +3
Philadelphia -1.5

Have a great day.
